The Sussex Cattle Society
Sussex cattle may be descended from red cattle that once roamed the forests of Southern England around 1066.
The Sussex were traditionally reared on Wealden Clays and the marshland of Sussex, Kent and Surrey and were often used as draught cattle for pulling loads.
The Sussex Cattle Society was formed in 1890.
