Uses
Lamb, hogget, mutton. Wool: Carpet. The ewe is crossed with the Blue faced Leicester ram to produce the North of England Mule.
Origin
North Yorkshire and old county of Westmorland now southern Cumbria.
Class
Hill and Mountain breed. Horned. 2 horns in both sexes.
Colour
Predominantly white fleece with some black around the neck. A black face with white on and around the muzzle and grey legs.
Parentage
Indigenous horned sheep of the area.
